Gamification is a fancy and awesome tool, but it is only useful if we design and customize it for our community. If it is executed properly, it can engage users and change their behaviour by borrowing great ideas from games and applying them to serve our goals. But what is behind this high-sounding promise?
 
Our goal in this presentation is to discuss:
  • how we can define gamification,
  • how gamification could be a useful tool instead of just being a trivial concept,
  • how we could design a gamification framework.
 
To make it more useful to the audience, we would like to demonstrate the gamification process with some basic Drupal examples. Although 20 minutes are not enough to cover the entire field of gamification, the time should be enough to start a great conversation about this very actual topic.
